AN-GSHDSL-E1 modems use TC PAM-16 line coding, equalization, adaptive filtering and echo cancellation to compensate for line impairments, bridge taps and mixed cabling. This provides immunity to backgroundnoise and enables transmission of multiple SHDSL lines on the samephysical cable. AN-GSHDSL-E1 can be managed via A VT-100 compatibleAsynchronous Terminal Interface. 
AN-GSHDSL-E1 is equipped with anadaptive auto rate capability that identifies the maximum line ratesupported by the copper loop.
